There are three Aspects of the Crucible in Elden Ring that can be achieved by defeating Crucible Knights within the Lands in Between.

Elden Ring's Arts of War adds an interesting take to the gameplay throughout the different adventures of many Tarnished. While Weapon Arts can be learned from every weapon after picking it up, there are different aspects that players can learn by defeating a special enemy. One of those enemies are the Crucible Knights that can be found throughout the world of Elden Ring.

A Crucible Knight can come from places that aren't usually as obvious and they are foreboding enemies possessing great strength but a reward after defeating. Defeating one of these Knights grants players an aspect of The Crucible. These are spells that allow them to do things like summon a tail from thin air or materialize a horn. Dragon-like aspects without fully materializing a dragon, like the incantations that are received from Elden Ring's dragon communion.

Because of the vastness Elden Ring and the Lands in Between, finding a Crucible Knight can seem almost random. However, they are in specific places and it's easy to find them once you know where they are. There are three Crucible Knights around and each one gifts players a different aspect.

The easiest Crucible Aspect to get in Elden Ring is the Aspect of the Crucible: Tail. This can be acquired by going to the Limgrave region and finding the strange Stormhill Evergaol alter. The glowing circle in the center leads to a rift between worlds where the knight awaits. This is a 1v1 as the Elden Ring player invades their space. Though this usually is the first experience of a Crucible Knight it's not mandatory and can be missed or skipped.

After vanquishing this knight the player is gifted the Tail Aspect of the Crucible which allows them to materialize a tail and perform a wide AOE sweep. This sweep is good for destroying enemy poise and can do even more damage if charged. Once charged, the sweep becomes two and grants a bit of super armor during the second swing. A Faith of 27 is needed to cast this but with a fairly low FP cost of 32, this can be cast many times during combat.

Aspect of the Crucible: Horn is in the Stormveil Castle of Elden Ring, there is an area that has three blade-wielding birds waiting to grab the nearby bomb barrels and toss them at any trespassers. Get past them and take the first left, then jump over the ledge and plummet down. Use caution as jumping too far leads to overshooting the ground underneath. It's safer to walk off the ledge and fall down. Continue working the way down until breaking through the ground and landing in a bunch of bushes. Continuing this path will lead to the Knight who comes out from behind a wall.

Beating him grants the Horn Aspect which can be used to materialize a horn and rend enemies with it. Players should beat the Auriza hero's grave to acquire Ordotvit's greatsword in Elden Ring. The Horn incantation has super armor that allows Tarnished to be hit but continues the spell anyway. It also has the ability to be charged, which increases the range and effect of the horn. Enemies hit are flung to the air and instantly lose poise leaving them open for attack. This incantation also needs a Faith of 27 but the FP is only 30.

Aspect of the Crucible: Breath is found in the Lord of Blasphemy's boss area. Tanith who is now eating the dead corpse of the lord can be attacked and killed which causes their Knight to invade. This Knight is very aggressive but beating this knight will award players the Breath Aspect of the Crucible incantation which grants fire breathing. This aspect does fire damage for an extended period and can last even longer depending on how long it is charged. This is a great spell for Elden Ring mobs that swarm, especially if used properly. With a need for 27 Faith and an FP usage of 28 using this spell to melt enemies is easy.

Fights against a Crucible Knight are pretty straightforward, though their fighting styles are very similar, each knight has two or more of their own aspects that they use in battle. These Knights are very strong and can easily decimate the unassuming player with ease and a few swings due to their high damage output. They are heavy but can make sudden movements as well with a lunge that seems to reach a bit further than it should. Aside from that, the attacks are very similar for each of the Elden Ring's Crucible Knight.

Even with all of that, beating them can be easy with calm and steady parries. Most attacks the Knight does are heavily choreographed and create openings to attack or parry. With the right timing, it is also possible to jump over the AOE slam attack and get in a few quick hits from behind or reposition to gain a bit of distance.
